I'm a Loud and Proud GLEEK!

I have never loved a show THIS much since the days of Dawson's Creek (now come you know you loved that show). There are so many reasons why I've fallen hook line and sinker for this campy, yet smartly written show. Jane Lynch, reason the first!  Cory Monteith and Mark Salling, reason the second. Tee hee.
It's been a while since I have devoted an hour to nothing but the lives of fictional characters. My hubby knows that during this important hour if he wants my attention he MUST wait until the commercial breaks and say whatever he needs to say in those short, yet seemingly long, 2.5 mins.

Last night, with a fellow gleeker- hey Rachel! I settled down to watch the much hyped Britney Spears episode.

And it was AWESOME! There were a few things that stood out for me.
First, I liked that all of the Brit songs were drug induced hallucinations. It seemed really appropriate, I'm just sayin'.
Second, I LOVED that she appeared in the show. She's not the best actress (hello, Crossroads) but it was cool to see her participate. Would have loved to have seen Lady Gaga and Madonna in their tribute episodes.
Thirdly, Heather Morris, who plays the hilariously dim-witted Brittany Pierce, did one hell of a job as Britney Spears. Chicky can move! And was a dead ringer for the songstress.

I do have a few, small complaints. One, why oh why did they have Rachel Berry singing Paramore's The Only Exception? It seemed really odd and out of place to have a Britney Spears episode end with a song from a band that is on the other side of the music spectrum.
Another hitch for me was Lea Michele is WAY too good a singer to be belting out Brits Baby One More Time. It actually made the song sound worse. Who knew?
And it needed more Finn and Puck! But Dr. Carl was a nice substitution.

But all in all it was a pretty damn good episode. I am satisfied for yet another week.
Next tribute episode- Michael Jackson or maybe Mariah Carey.

What show has grabbed your attention and why?
