Gobble Gobble!

Joyous Sharing-with-the-Indigenous-People-of-this-land-then-conquering-them Day! Or as it's more commonly know, Thanksgiving Day.

This weekend has been filled with family, napped deprived children and obscene amounts of delicious, scrumptious, belt-busting food. Honestly, who doesn't love pie!

It has also been laced with me kicking my own butt. I have been wracking my brain as to how I'm going to productively organize my writing time. I have a few things going on and was starting to feel a wee bit overwhelmed. But not anymore! One of my buddies- Hey Vanessa -was kind enough to give one of her day planners that she wasn't using. What did I need this for you may ask? Well, to schedule my 'work' time out you silly goose. I know it sounds ridiculously anal of me, but with 2 kids, dog and hubby to contend with it needed to be done. So I have a plan and I'm gonna stick to it! Sorry to get off topic there, I just felt compelled to explain my lack of blogging for the past week.

Ok, now that's over with, let's get back to the pie! I love pie way more the cake. Pie is so versatile and yummy. I don't have a favourite per say, but cherry, lemon meringue and apple top my list. The only time I eat this wonder of the pastry world, is during the holiday season. I get my fill, feel totally gross afterwards, and vow never to eat that much again. It's kinda like a New Year's resolution. You have the best intentions, but in the end you just give in. Bless the person who invented the elastic waist!

Thanksgiving is one of the few times a years where my whole family gets together. I love seeing my cousins and aunts and uncles. We catchup, eat like starved prisoners and chat some more. My hubby's family has a neat little tradition of going around the table and saying what we are thankful for. This year I was bit coy and said, "for everything. I'm so happy." What I really meant to say was, "I am so thankful that I live in on of the best countries in the world, that I have an awesome little family, great friends and that I have found something I really love doing- writing. I live a truly blessed life. Not sure why I deserve this when others go without, but I hope I can teach my kids to cherish everything and take nothing for granted."

All right enough of the mushy stuff. Happy Turkey Day to all.

Come back on Thursday when I'll be spilling my guts on 'working' from home.
